The Minister of Inside, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, stated Nigerian youths deserved commendation for embarking on the Finish SARS protest nationwide.
Based on him, the protests, although hijacked by hoodlums, woke up the nation from its lethargy and consciousness to what was bedeviling the nation.
Aregbesola spoke at Dioceses of Ijesa North, Anglican Communion, Ijebu-jesa, Osun State on Friday.
He stated, “The youth have to be recommended for organising a protest that woke the nation from its lethargy and roused our consciousness to the scenario wherein we discovered ourselves. These youth are a blessing to any society simply as they are often the purveyor of evil, if their vitality shouldn’t be correctly channelled.
Aregbesola addressed the youths as “the technology of social media and the facility of concepts and mind” and a peculiar breed.
He stated that the deployment of their intelligence is a special matter, which the federal government should search to re-channel by constructive modelling, mentoring, retraining and finally gainful employment.
“The stories and footage of assaults, killings, looting, arson and barefaced robberies ought to fill us all with disgrace and the deepest embarrassment.
“There was as soon as a time when roadside merchants left their wares unattended and had been positive nobody would steal them.
